Questions
Before you ask.
What is a lien waiver, and do I need one?
It’s a signed note from a contractor or supplier saying they’ve been paid for certain work and give up the right to file a lien on your property for it. If your contractor doesn’t pay a subcontractor, that sub may be able to file a lien on your home even though you paid in full. Collecting one with each payment is the standard protection. Rules differ by state.
Does my contractor have to use the app?
No. Waiver and signature requests go out as a link they can open in any browser.
Is this legal advice?
No. Remodel Vault organizes payments and documents and points out common risks. For a dispute or a lien already filed, talk to a construction attorney in your state.
When does the iPhone app come out?
We’re building it now. People on the waitlist get access first.
