Privacy policy

Remodel Vault is an app in development that helps homeowners keep track of payments, lien waivers, change orders and permits on a renovation. This page explains what this website collects, why, and how to get your information removed.
The short version. If you join the waitlist, we keep your email so we can tell you when the app launches. The free checks run in your browser, and the numbers you type are never sent to us. We count visits without cookies and without saving IP addresses. We don’t sell or share your information with advertisers.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we store:
- your email address
- the project type you picked, if you picked one (for example “Kitchen”)
- the website that sent you here, if any (for example a search engine), and your country, worked out from your connection
- the date you signed up
When you use the free checks, the amounts you type (contract price, payments, deposits and so on) stay in your browser and are never sent to us. We do count, anonymously, which result a check showed (for example “ahead of the work”) and a rough price range such as “$50k–100k”, so we can see which problems are most common. That count isn’t linked to your email.
When you visit any page, we count the visit: the page, the website that sent you, your country and whether you’re on a phone or a computer. To tell visits apart for a single day, we combine your IP address and browser type with a random value that is replaced every day, and keep only a scrambled result. We never store your IP address with your visits, and we can’t use that result to recognize you on another day.
To stop spam, the waitlist form and the admin login keep a scrambled code made from your connection address for a short time, so we can limit repeated attempts. These codes are deleted within a day.
Cookies
The public site doesn’t set cookies. The only cookie we use is a login cookie for the site owner’s admin page.
How we use it
- to email you when the app launches or opens early access (we say “one email at launch”, and we mean it)
- to understand how many people visit and which free checks are useful, so we can improve the site and the app
We don’t sell your information, share it with advertisers, or use it to build advertising profiles.
Services that help run the site
- Cloudflare hosts the website and stores the waitlist and visit counts. Cloudflare also provides privacy-friendly visit statistics that don’t use cookies.
- Google Fonts supplies the fonts on these pages, so your browser asks Google’s servers for the font files.
These companies handle data under their own privacy policies and only as needed to provide their service.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist emails until the app launches and the launch email has gone out, or until you ask us to remove yours, whichever comes first. Visit counts don’t identify anyone and may be kept to track how the site is doing over time.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with, and we’ll take care of it within 30 days. If you live in California or another place with privacy laws, you have these rights by law, and we won’t treat you differently for using them.
Your browser may send a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal. Since we don’t track you across other websites or sell information, there’s nothing extra for those signals to switch off.
Children
This site is meant for adults planning or paying for a renovation. It isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we’ll delete it.
Security
The site only works over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and the waitlist can only be seen by the site owner after logging in with a password. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect small so there’s less to protect.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use your email, we’ll tell waitlist members before it takes effect.
